The Flower Farm

Cozy Oak Gardens is a specialty cut flower farm started in 2020. We are located in the beautiful and historic town of New Fairfield, CT. Our cozy 6+ acre farm is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City. New Fairfield was always a historical farming community dating as far back as the late 1700s. We aspire to bring farming back to the community.

Sustainable Growing

Cozy Oak Gardens is focused on adapting sustainable growing practices. These sustainable practices include starting all bouquet flowers from seed, tuber, corm, bulb and plug on property. All flowers are field-grown outside, instead of using energy-hungry, temperature controlled buildings. Cozy Oak Gardens also manages the water intake in the gardens and will never use plastic packaging with any bouquets. We pride ourselves on following organic farming practices, not using harmful chemicals found in fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

Meet the Farmer: Jenny Audo

Welcome to Cozy Oak Gardens! My journey as a specialty cut flower farmer and artisan florist started when I was very young. I would often help my mother planting annuals in her garden every spring. I also have fond memories of sprucing up the landscaping around my childhood home in preparation for my sister’s wedding photos. My mother’s most loved perennials were her peonies and she passed along that love to me as I grew older.

Through my 20s and early 30s, I was a certified special education elementary school teacher. I earned my Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology and happily transitioned to become my school’s Data Specialist, focusing on teaching teachers. In 2014, I became ill and was no longer able to teach. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease and started the long journey of learning to live with a disability.

In April 2020, right as COVID-19 hit, we purchased the property next to us. We first considered it an investment property but slowly I believed it to be the future of an aspiring flower farm. I began watching flower farming videos on YouTube and then eagerly signed up for all of The Gardener’s Workshop and Floret’s Flower Farming courses. With the support of my husband, I applied for a business license that year and started the flower farming dream on a tiny 625 square foot garden.

Over the past 3 years the garden has expanded significantly. I’ve built a seed starting studio in our basement where I started over 10,000 seeds in the late winter of 2022. I’ve planted hundreds of peonies, perennials, shrubs and thousands of annuals all for cut flower production. I focused my business on the highest quality, longest lasting, organic, farm fresh flowers. I utilize my educational background whenever I share the farm and the flowers with the community. As the business grows, I hope to schedule floral workshops and farm events sharing my passion for flowers with other flower friends. I believe in:

“Spreading Joy One Bloom At A Time!”
